The image on the L shows the instructions for use of  the Free Flow Bleeder.

In an old style reservoir bleed you need to

  • 1. Loosen the bleed nipple
  • 2. Compress lever
  • 3  Retighten the bleed nipple.
  • 4. Release lever
  • 5. Repeat steps 1-4 until you go mental.
  • 6. Use a ring spanner on the bleed nipple.
  • 7. Use both hands
  • 8. Use your 3rd hand to keep the reservoir topped up!

Failure to do 3 before 4 means air gets sucked in at the caliper.  Failure to do 8 means air gets in at the reservoir. A real pain!

Using the Free Flow Bleeder

  • 1. Apply the Free Flow Bleeder and set the bleed nipple to the correct tension
  • 2 Compress and release lever with the option of filling reservoir while this is being done..
  • 3 Close nipple only once when bleed is complete

It really is as easy as it sounds.

It really is the easiest setup to use there is.  If you've bled brakes the old way you'll be able to see how much easier it makes things.  If you haven't done it the old way then compare the two and ask yourself which looks the easier.

It's superb value even on it's own but knock off the cost of the ring spanner required for traditional bleeds and the value just gets better.

If you've bled hydraulic brakes you'll know what a real bind it can be.  Loads of potential for mess and exhausting your vocabulary of profanities.  There had to be an easier way and this is it.

Shown on the R the Free Flow Bleeder is as simple, clean and tidy a way as you could want to bleed any hydraulic brake system in which you can open the reservoir and which has a bleed nipple on the caliper.
On its own the Free Flow Bleeder is not only the best, easiest and cleanest setup around it's superbly priced.

For an even bigger bargain, why not buy one with 100ml of genuine Shimano mineral oil. if you use brakes (or any others with mineral oil) you'll know how expensive genuine Shimano oil is.

On the R you get 100ml for less than the price of the 50ml tubes sold in the shops.  Plus you get a Free Flow Bleed kit.
